Today I am a member of press at Raindance film festival. I’ve have the absolute pleasure of meeting feminist erotic filmmaker Erika Lust and talking to her about the screening of XConfessions which is happening tonight at Vue Piccadilly.
I also had the opportunity to speak with Elliot Grove, the founder of Raindance, about Erika’s inclusion in the festival’s programme. His response was so good I had to blog it this afternoon:
“A filmmaker’s goal is to elicit emotion from an audience, regardless of the type of film. Our bodies are 95% water and the goal of Raindance is to squeeze that water, those bodily fluids, out of any pore that is appropriate.”
What a gorgeous answer.
The whole thing has left me feeling so inspired, partially to write about pornography, partially to make pornography!
I’m writing an article which gives scope to the amazing interview I had with Erika, and with Elliot, which I shall be working on for the next few days. I’ve bought ample amounts of coffee to aid me in this task.
I cannot wait for the screening tonight. It feels so incredibly exciting to be going to a public screening of Erika Lust’s work.
